Kevin Nelson is a filtration industry veteran, having worked for four leading filtration companies over a forty-year career. Among his employers were Purolator/Parker Hannifin, Mann + Hummel GmbH, and Kaydon Filtration. For the past seven years, Kevin was the president of Porvair Filtration Group’s US operations. His experience is both broad and deep: He has worked in a wide range of industries, including automotive, aerospace, nuclear, industrial, chemical process, and microelectronics. He has held positions in manufacturing, engineering, research and development, sales and marketing, general management, and executive management.
The most notable aspect of Kevin’s experience is his knack for growing companies. Whether through new product development, acquisitions, sales channel growth, strategic pricing, or strategic alliances, Kevin has grown businesses with every single assignment.
Leveraging his background in filtration, Mr. Nelson has joined Altos Partners as Executive in Residence for the filtration industry. In this role, he will assist Altos in creating a filtration division through acquisitions and organic growth.
Kevin earned bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration (Marketing) and Economics from Oklahoma State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Tulsa.
Kevin lives in Richmond, VA with his wife Maureen. They have three adult children.
